Why I don’t like the Straight Guy Porn Genre

naked, buttocks, bottom, rimming

We all watch porn, let’s not beat around the bush. We watch porn all the time. Let’s be clear though, I don’t pay for porn, strictly free porn for me.

naked, buttocks, bottom, rimmingThere’s been a lot of the ‘Straight guy goes gay‘ genre come up on the home pages and suggested viewing recently. I just don’t see the appeal of hooking up with a straight guy. Maybe it’s the idea of turning the straight guy that makes it such an interesting topic. But I couldn’t think of anything worse than rimming a straight guys ass.

I don’t buy into the whole Masc4Masc bull and I don’t ever want to hear the words ‘Straight Acting‘. I’m a gay man, I’m somewhere in the middle of Masculine and Femine, sometimes I’m more one than the other. I’ve dated guys more masculine than I am and I’ve dated guys less masculine than I am.

I really wish we were past the whole Masc/Fem issue and trying to categorize everyone. We’re gay, we already don’t fit the mould; so the idea of masculine gays being more acceptable shouldn’t sit well with any of us that are comfortable with our sexuality.

  1. Great post. I think and this is how I see it, that gay culture of categories us gay men into sub-categories like, fem, muscular, straight acting, bear, Otto, top, bottom need I go on, is within our community dangerous. Most gay people were bullied at some time of their lives, when you get labeled by the community it’s also in a form bullying. I am gay man and I like men, and surly it should be a lot more than what the look like and body type they have. This gay for pay porn, well to me it’s a marketing thing. And if we all admit it, we do watch porn. Ivan

  2. Too many same gender loving men still believe that their sexual attraction is still “less” than acceptable. This isn’t their fault. After all, they’re the product of their environment. Unfortunately, too many lack the ability to take pride in just being themselves and accept the fact that the whole heterosexual concept of masculine and feminine doesn’t apply to our situation. I’m grateful to you for your honesty and courage in publishing this manifesto. It’s time that we as gay men reject this assumption about ourselves and demand the same from the media. Naked hugs!

  3. Great post. But I have a different take on this. Porn lets you get out of yourself and try something new without doing it, exorcise your insecurities (why do so many white men straight men like cuckold scenes where big dick black men are fucking their wives and daughters?), and even empowers you.

A gay man who loves porn about gay men seducing straight men might be watching it simply to live out a fantasy they have no intention of doing it. Porn is like Halloween. For a little while we can be something else if only vicariously.
